## Get found online

Use the same business name, and the same address with the suite number, everywhere your business appears. Google asks that a profile name reflect "your business's real-world name, as used consistently on your storefront, website, stationery, and as known to customers," and it takes a suite number as "Address Line 2." The suite matters here because several businesses share each building number, and delivery drivers and map apps need it to find the right door.

To ask the campus to add or correct your entry in this site's directory, email [wattes7@gmail.com](mailto:wattes7@gmail.com) with your business name, building, suite and website.

- [Google Business Profile](https://support.google.com/business/answer/2911778): add or claim your profile so customers can find you on Search and Maps, then [verify it](https://support.google.com/business/answer/7107242).
- [Apple Business](https://business.apple.com/): claim your location on Apple Maps.
- [Bing Places for Business](https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/bing/add-and-manage-your-business-listing): claim or update your Bing listing.

## Check that every listing agrees

Search your own business name and read each listing the way a customer would. The street number, suite and website should match your own website on every one.

Look at the map pin as well as the text. On this campus 608 is the east building, 664 the middle and 676 the west, across Halsted St. A pin on the wrong building sends people to the wrong door, even when the address text is right.

Check the website field too. If a listing points at an old domain, a visitor may land on someone else's page. Look for a former name or an old street address in directories, booking pages and social profiles, and ask each one to update.

Business data services share records with each other, so an old name or address can come back after you fix it. Check again a month later.

## Open or move a business in Twin Falls

The City of Twin Falls says all businesses need to register with the Idaho Secretary of State and that a business "may also need an Idaho Sales/Use Tax number." The Idaho State Tax Commission lays out the order: register the business and any assumed business names with the Secretary of State, get a federal Employer Identification Number from the IRS if you need one, then apply for state tax and employer permits through one Idaho Business Registration application.

Registering a business name does not create a legal entity and is not a business license. The state's business site notes that business licenses come from city or county clerks, and the City lists the kinds of business that need one on its [business regulations page](https://forms.tfid.org/Forms/BusinessResources).

- [Idaho Secretary of State, Starting a Business](https://sos.idaho.gov/business-resources/): entity and assumed business name filings through SOSBiz.
- [Idaho State Tax Commission, Getting Tax Permits](https://tax.idaho.gov/online-services/business-registration/): seller's permit, withholding and employer permits through the Idaho Business Registration application.
- [Business.Idaho.gov](https://business.idaho.gov/): a four-question wizard that lists the federal, state and local agencies you may need.

## City permits, signs and inspections

The City's Building Safety Department says new commercial structures, remodels and additions need permits, that all electrical, plumbing, mechanical and gas work must be permitted, and that signs must be permitted. Its permitting staff also issue certificates of occupancy. Start with its [permit requirements](https://www.tfid.org/215/Permit-Requirements) and its [applications, forms and fees](https://www.tfid.org/439/Permit-Page), and ask Building Safety before you start any work.

Planning and Zoning reviews building permit requests and recommends a project coordination meeting before you apply for a zoning permit. Contact [Planning and Zoning](https://www.tfid.org/175/Planning-and-Zoning) to confirm your use is allowed in the Commercial district. The Twin Falls Fire Department [conducts fire code inspections](https://www.tfid.org/164/Fire) of local businesses, so ask the City which inspections apply to your suite.

## Trade licenses

Some trades, such as barbering, cosmetology and massage therapy, need a state license. The Idaho Division of Occupational and Professional Licenses (DOPL) runs the licensing boards. Its [Barber and Cosmetology Services Licensing Board](https://dopl.idaho.gov/bcb/) handles applications, renewals and license searches for that field, and its [Board of Massage Therapy](https://dopl.idaho.gov/mas/) handles massage therapy.

For tattoo and piercing studios, the City's table of uses lists "Body Art Studio" as its own use, so ask Planning and Zoning what applies before you sign a lease. This site does not summarize body art rules.

## Utilities and services

The City's parcel records list City water for all three parcels, and the City bills water and sewer service. The City's Utility Services page links electricity to Idaho Power and natural gas to Intermountain Gas. Ask the property contact, or the utility, which accounts your suite needs in its own name.

- Water and sewer: the [City of Twin Falls utility services](https://www.tfid.org/190/Utility-Services) and [water and wastewater rates](https://www.tfid.org/211/Water-Wastewater-Rates).
- Electricity: [Idaho Power, start service](https://www.idahopower.com/accounts-service/service-changes-requests/).
- Natural gas: [Intermountain Gas, business services](https://www.intgas.com/rates-services/business-services/).
- Trash and recycling: the City's [waste collection page](https://www.tfid.org/198/Waste-Collection) describes service under its contract hauler, PSI Environmental Systems, for occupied residences. Ask the City's utility office or the property contact how pickup works for a commercial suite.
- Internet: for 664 Shoup Ave W, the FCC's [National Broadband Map](https://broadbandmap.fcc.gov/) (data as of December 31, 2025) lists fiber from Project Mutual Telephone, cable from Sparklight, copper from CenturyLink, and several fixed wireless and satellite providers. Ask the provider to confirm service at your suite.
